About the Role:

Faith Associates is looking to recruit a Madrassah Support Worker to work from our Head Office in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. The successful candidate will be involved in researching, developing and maintaining, training and supplementary materials which support our work with Madrassah and Islamic Supplementary Schools. Provide admin and logistical support to the wider team and help to promote the services and support systems developed by Faith Associates. The successful candidate will also be expected to engage with Mosque and Madrassah leaders and support their aspirations and institutional development (To achieve tasks in house and on location will training will be provided to the successful candidate as required).

The position will require community contact, travel to Mosques and Islamic Supplementary Schools have close engagement with senior leaders of the community face to face as well as online and telephone.

Help develop core competencies and capabilities in Madrassah and Islamic Supplementary School leadership teams to improve Management and teaching capability.

Core Elements of the Role:

Institutional development:

  • Recording and documenting aspirations and requirements and feeding back recommendations
  • Madrassah and Islamic Supplementary school leadership engagement and offering advice and training
  • Supporting implementation of recommendations to Madrassah leadership and staff

Admin and Logistics:

  • Undertaking general administrative duties including, filing, photocopying, scanning and printing
  • Inputting data accurately on relevant internal spreadsheets and databases in order to maintain correct and up to date information
  • Event coordination and management of internal and external events and conferences, including tracking sales, booking venues/rooms, arranging travel and accommodation etc.
  • Providing reliable support to the wider team and high-quality customer service to clients and partner institutes
  • Handling and keeping a record of telephone and email queries
  • Organising and storing paperwork, documents and computer-based information
  • Using a variety of software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Access, etc., to produce correspondence and documents and maintain presentations, records, spreadsheets and databases
  • Maintaining office systems
  • Organising and attending meetings, taking minutes and keeping notes
  • Ordering and maintaining stationery and equipment
  • Sorting and distributing incoming post and organising and sending outgoing post
  • Liaising with management to book travel and accommodation
  • Managing Client Relationship Management systems
  • Conducting online research, database management, cold calling and engaging campaign partners

Website and Communication support:

  • Writing, maintaining and sourcing content for the Madrassah and Supplementary School support website, and Journal
  • Developing databases
  • Conducting desk and field based market research

Successful Candidates Must Possess:

  • Previous administrative experience
  • Polite and customer facing approach
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and listening skills
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Computer literacy with good knowledge of Excel and Word to Intermediate level
  • Excellent organisational, multi-tasking and time-management skills
  • Excellent written skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to absorb new information quickly, multi-task and prioritise duties, as well as work with light supervision
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Flexibility
  • Willingness to do routine tasks
  • Willingness to learn and pick up new skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of teaching methodologies
  • Have had exposure to teaching environments, some understanding of the working of the Mosque Madrassah and Islamic supplementary school sector
