Faith Associates was set up in 2004 as a non-theological consultancy to meet the needs of ethnic minority faith-based communities. We work in a culturally sensitive, multidisciplinary way to provide research, training, advice and guidance to influence the challenges faced by communities and we aim to improve the life choices of individuals.
Faith Associates recognizes the key roles Mosques, Madrassahs and Islamic Centres play in providing guidance. We also recognize the difficulties that face Imams and other key members when providing guidance and a good, sound, education experience.
Working with agencies that are concerned with business, education and government at local, regional, national and international levels has enabled us to identify the misconceptions that face faith-based communities and to work towards challenging these. Our work has focused on the greater inclusion of all members of faith-based communities and we are working towards increasing the confidence and skills of women and young people.
Our work provides a basis for a greater understanding between people of different faiths in building an aware community in which all can participate. Our training courses are based on the experiences of those who participate to ensure relevance and greater involvement and ownership. All of our courses are delivered with clear aims and outcomes. We intend to offer participants the opportunity to develop themselves and to provide them with new ways of thinking about their lives, both professionally and personally. We set out to examine the mistrust and misconceptions of the modern British experience and to change these into a positive learning experience.
